Cabretta Leather
A high-quality, soft leather used for gloves and shoes and made from sheepskin having coarse hairlike wool.
The hardy breed of highland hair (as opposed to wool) sheep known as Cabretta `produce a skin which makes the finest golf gloves in the world`. The superior quality allows a thin glove and combines to give superb grip and maximum feel.
Why Cabretta?
So why cabretta? The cabretta breed of sheep has hair rather than wool and this results in a fine quality skin, hard-wearing with a smooth finish. This raw material is perfect where `feel` is paramount and none more so than in a golf glove.
Why White?
So why white? The natural colour of cabretta leather is close to white and production of a white glove needs far less dye than any other colour. This ensures that the maximum softness remains in the finished product, giving the feel on the club that a pro-golfer demands. And as not all of us can discard a glove after each round, white gloves will retain their softness for longer and recover from getting wet better than other colours.
